A skunk is a mammal native to Earth that was acquired and morphed by Cassie, Ax, Jake, Rachel, and Marco.

Acquiring

"I stayed behind. I went back to the skunk in her cage. I opened the cage door and put my hand in. I was not wearing a glove. See, you can't acquire DNA if you're wearing gloves."

In The Secret, a mother skunk that had been burned by a Dracon beam was brought into the care of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic. With the skunk sedated, Cassie placed her hand into the cage to acquire the mother skunk so that she could mother the skunk's babies. The next day, the same mother skunk was also acquired by Ax, Jake, Rachel, and Marco.[1]

Usage

"Okay, while we're in school tomorrow and the next day, Ax and Tobias will protect the den. Ax will morph the mother skunk from time to time. [...] Then, after school and through the night, the rest of us will work shifts. I'll do most of the skunk morphing, but in between times we'll have to have Jake and Rachel and Marco to help keep up a patrol."

After a mother skunk was shot by a Dracon beam by Controllers trying to kill Cassie and Marco, the skunk fell into the care of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic. Cassie's father Walter confirmed that the skunk had given birth six or seven weeks ago and Cassie was horrified that there were skunk babies abandoned in the wild, knowing that they would not survive. Cassie then acquired the mother skunk in order to keep the skunk kits safe and allow them to imprint on their mother, and was nearly trapped in morph when she fell asleep in morph. In order to help Cassie, the mother skunk was acquired and morphed by Ax, Jake, Rachel, and Marco in order to keep the kits safe. At the same time, the Animorphs were also working to stop the Yeerk Empire's attempts to commit logging and deforestation in the national forest. Trapped under a box, Cassie morphed into the skunk moments before being confronted by Visser Three and his Hork-Bajir-Controllers, after which Cassie sprayed them. The Animorphs then made a "deal" with Visser Three where in exchange for abandoning his plans in the national forest they would tell him how to neutralize skunk stench, although they tricked him by telling him that grape juice was the key component.[1]

Cassie morphed into the skunk again when the Animorphs infiltrated the Web Access America Headquarters,[2] and once more when she was shrunk down by the Helmacrons.[3] Ax morphed into the skunk when the Animorphs were confronted by uninfested members of the police department, which prevented him from being present in his natural Andalite form. Rachel picked up Ax using her elephant trunk and hoisted him up as a weapon while Ax kept his tail raised, threatening to spray anyone nearby.[4] Months later, while undergoing uncontrollable morphing, Marco fused his skunk morph with his wolf spider morph as he became a wolf spider-skunk hybrid.[5]
